Government website advertises job at swingers' club
A SWINGERS club in Limerick city has been 'inundated' with applications after a post was advertised on the Department of Social Protection's website
The club - called I-Kandi - wants a “shift operator” to work there for 20 hours a week.
I-kandi, which is based in the Eastway Business Park on the outskirts of Limerick city, claims to be Ireland’s only swingers party nightclub venue as well as “the home of Irish erotica”.
The job advert has already resulted in "dozens" of applications.
The advertisement said the club is looking for “a person with a mature outlook” and that the €9-an-hour role will provide “good working conditions and a pleasant working environment offered to suitable, responsible, candidate”.
The job has caused raised eyebrows around the region, with one resident asking the Social Protection Department to take the post down.
The local man said I-Kandi should not be allowed to advertise on a Government website due to the nature of its business.
However, I-kandi boss Eamon Ryan insisted any activity that takes place on the premises is just “harmless fun”.
