Good news for Dublin students: A yearly expense has been cut by a third
With rent hitting all-time highs, fees showing no signs of slowing down and other expenses emptying student's wallets, Irish college-goers could be forgiven for thinking it's all doom and gloom.
However, that's not quite the case.
Students in Dublin can now afford an extra bucket to catch the leak in the roof of their €900 per month box-room, as the price of the student leap card has been cut by 33 per cent.
From September 1, the Leap Card will drop in price from €15 to €10 and can be purchased from most of the student unions and from StudentLeapCard.ie.
The card entitles students to savings on Bus Éireann, Dublin Bus, Irish Rail and LUAS services, is valid from September 1 2016 to December 31, 2017.
Probably not the biggest saving imaginable, but every little bit counts.
