Go west for the best of the week's sunshine
Sun-worshippers will need to go west for the best of the early summer weather, say forecasters.
Met Éireann's Siobhan Ryan said mild, warm weather which swept across western areas yesterday will continue for the next few days, but it will be cooler in the east and there will be showers in southern counties.
However, the south will see the best of the warmer, drier weather later in the week as high pressure settles there.
"Temperatures will range from 16C to 23C, with the warmest weather in the west and north west," said Ms Ryan.
There will be heavy rain over the south until Wednesday, however the whole country will see lots of sunshine for the rest of the week.
