Gayle confirmed as creditor of husband Sean Dunne, court told
LAWYERS for Gayle Killilea have confirmed she is a creditor of husband Sean Dunne.
As part of an appeal to a ruling allowing bankruptcy proceedings to begin against Mr Dunne in Ireland as well as the US, Ms Killilea's legal team have filed court documents in the US saying she is the "wife of and a creditor of the Debtor and a party of interest in this case".
Mrs Killilea's role as a creditor in her husband's complex bankruptcy proceedings emerged in a hearing in Connecticut on Tuesday when her lawyer, Eric Henzy, told the court her client "had a claim".
The bust developer was questioned for seven hours on Wednesday by a court appointed bankruptcy trustee and representatives of NAMA at a creditors meeting in New Haven but refused to confirm if his wife was Creditor A on the schedule with a claim of $44m (€33m).
The former 'Baron of Ballsbridge' is appealing a decision by a judge in Connecticut earlier this month to allow Ulster Bank to proceed with its petition to have him declared bankrupt in Ireland as well as the US.
