DUBLIN'S transformed art deco Savoy cinema was the perfect backdrop for the Irish premiere of F Scott Fitzgerald's classic 'The Great Gatsby'.
Glamour was not in short supply as film buffs and fashionistas alike graced the red carpet in their vintage finery.
The original glass chandeliers and art deco railings lent an authentic 1920s air to the cinema. And cinema-goers dressed in flapper dresses, fur coats and beaded head-dresses posed in front of a replica silver Beauford open-top touring car.
Fashion gurus Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon – were impressed by the dazzling array of vintage fashion on display. "It's fantastic, it's like seeing the 1920s revisited on O'Connell Street," said 'Off the Rails' presenter Mr Courtney.
"I just saw this woman walk in in this massive fur coat and it's really incredibly decadent, like the movie, I hope," he said.
His co-presenter Ms Lennon said the '20s era has been huge recently and hopes the film will keep the trend going strong.
