Gardai suspect missing children are runaways

Fiona Ellis

GARDAI were last night searching for an 11-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy who have been missing for two days.

Friends Patrick Quaid (13) and Jasmine Humphrey (11) went missing from their homes in the Foxhill area of Coolock, Dublin, on Wednesday afternoon. Gardai believe they have run away together.

It is understood Patrick has run away before but this is the first time Jasmine has gone missing from her family. Gardai do not believe anyone else is involved in the disappearance.

Officers believe the children may be in the Finglas, Glasnevin or Balbriggan areas where Patrick has run away to before.

When last seen, Patrick was wearing a dark-coloured T-shirt and red and white shorts.

He is 5ft 4in tall and slim, with short black hair, green eyes and white skin.

Jasmine was wearing a black jumper with "Westlife" on the front, blue jeans and white runners. She is around 5ft tall with a slight build. She has brown hair, brown eyes and white skin.

Anyone with information should contact gardai at Coolock on 01 6664200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
