Gardai seize drugs worth more than €350k in South Dublin and Kildare
Gardai have seized drugs believed to be worth over €350,000 in two major raids today.
Gardai arrested two men following an operation at Ryebrook Business Park, Leixlip, Co Kildare.
In an intelligence-led operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs, detectives from the Garda National Drug Unit carried out a surveillance operation yesterday.
During a number of follow-up searches this morning, two kilos of cannabis herb(€40,000), four kilos of cannabis resin (€24,000), one and a half kilos of powder believed to be coke (€105,000), were half a kilo of heroin (€75,000) seized.
Gardai also seized drug paraphernalia along with over 250 rounds of ammunition and a double-barrelled sawn-off shotgun.
Two men, aged 20 and 58, were arrested at the scene.
They and are currently detained at Leixlip garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Meanwhile, gardai made a cannabis haul worth around €110,000 in South Dublin today.
This morning, at approximately 7.45am, gardai conducted a planned search of a house in the Donomore Avenue area of Tallaght.
The discovery of the cannabis resin was as part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Tallaght area of Dublin.
During the course of the search cannabis resin with an estimated street value of up to €111,000, along with other items of stolen property, were seized.
A man (41) and a woman (37) were arrested at the scene and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Rathfarnham Garda station.
