Gardai seize €5m worth of cannabis and ecstasy

DRUGS with an estimated streets value of €5m have been seized from a premises in a business park.

The drugs include some 80kgs of cannabis herb and approximately 350,000 ecstasy tablets.

Gardai from the National Drug Unit and the Revenue Customs Service were involved in the operation which saw a premises at Rosemount Business Park in Blanchardstown in Dublin 15, where the drugs were discovered. 

“A 41-year-old male was arrested in relation to the discovery and is currently detained under the provisions of section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended at Blanchardstown Garda Station,” a garda spokesman said.
