Gardai seek witnesses after hurler's road death
A PROMISING young hurler has died following a single-vehicle accident near his home.
Eric Campbell (18), of Nenagh, Co Tipperary, died in hospital on Wednesday after the car he was driving collided with a ditch at Islandbawn, Nenagh shortly before midnight on Monday. He played for Toomevara in north Tipperary.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 067 50450 or 1800 666 111.
Meanwhile, gardai have renewed their appeal for witnesses to a two-vehicle crash on the M50 in which an 80-year-old woman died last month.
The woman, from Leixlip, Co Kildare, was involved in a collision with a van on the northbound junction of the motorway at Donabate, north Co Dublin, at 10.30pm on January 27.
Witnesses are urged to contact gardai at the Ronanstown Garda Station on 01 666 7700.
