Gardai on patrol nab armed raiders


Three people have been arrested following an armed robbery in Dublin last night.

A handgun, knife and a quantity of stolen cash were also seized by gardai.

The raid occurred at a filling station on Clonsilla Road at 9pm last night.

A woman drove a car up to the filling station. Two men wearing balaclavas and armed with a knife then got out of the vehicle and entered the shop.

They threatened staff and stole a quantity of cash before fleeing the shop.

Gardai on patrol in the area intervened as the men ran from the shop and arrested all three.

The two men are in their late teens and early 20s, while the woman in her in early 40s.

All three were taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station and remained there today.
