Gardai in Donegal investigating the murder of former Sinn Féin official and British agent Denis Donaldson have released two men without charge.

A man in his 40s and another in his 30s were arrested on Sunday at Letterkenny Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Both men have since been released without charge.

Mr Donaldson (55), a Sinn Fein official, was shot dead at an isolated cottage near Glenties in County Donegal in April 2006 following his exposure as a British spy.
