Gardai investigating discovery of body in Co Clare 'rule out foul play'

Gardaí investigating the discovery of a body in Co Clare this morning have now ruled out foul play as a factor in the man's death.

The body of a man in his 40s was discovered in the vicinity of The Turnpike Road in Ennis.

A post-mortem examination was carried out this afternoon at University Hospital Limerick.

A knife and other items were recovered from the scene while gardaí are continuing to establish the man’s movements before his death. Officers are examining CCTV footage from the area.

The man is understood to have lived locally and was married with two children according to locals.
