Gardai investigate armed robbery of shop in Dublin
Gardai have launched an investigation raiders held up a clothing store in West Dublin in broad daylight.
The incident occurred in front of dozens of stunned shoppers at the Champion sports store in Blanchardstown yesterday evening.
One shopper managed to film the incident on her camera phone.
Shortly after 5pm two males entered the store. One of the raiders went behind the counter and emptying the tills while the other waited near the door.
It is believed one of the raiders was armed with an implement; however neither is believed to have been carrying a firearm.
However despite the raiders’ daring antics they only managed to escape with a small amount of cash.
The duo wore motorcycle helmets and made their escape just seconds after the robbery on a waiting motorbike.
A Garda spokesperson has confirmed they are investigating the incident, and that the footage will be examined as part of the investigation.
