Gardai have recovered the body of missing man Patrick Garvey, last seen three weeks ago.
The 78-year-old was sighted on Tuesday, May 19, around 12:15 pm near his home in Bettystown in County Meath.
An appeal was launched last week to locate the missing man.
Described as a thin man with white hair, it is thought that Mr Garvey had been missing for almost seven days before the alarm was raised.
A spokesperson for the Gardai said that “no further action” was required regarding the search for the 78-year-old, adding that officers overseeing the search efforts would like to thank the pubic for their assistance in tracing the remains of Mr Garvey.
