Gardai are hunting for two young men armed with iron bars who threatened staff members at a Cork shop before fleeing with a small quantity of cash.

No-one was injured in the incident which occurred in Ballyvourney, Co Cork shortly before 9am.

Both raiders are understood to be in their 20s.

They wore balaclavas and threatened staff with iron bars before demanding a quantity of cash.

Both then fled the scene in a white Mini-type car.

The vehicle is described as being very distinctive - bright white in colour, possibly with a black roof.

It is understood to have 2007 registration plates.

Gardaí believe the vehicle may have headed in the Kerry direction and may now possibly be in the east Kerry area

Anyone spotting the vehicle is warned not to approach it but to ring 999 or their local garda station.
