Gardai arrest two people following armed robbery in Blanchardstown

GARDAI have arrested two people and recovered a firearm and cash following an armed robbery in Blanchardstown last night.

At around 11.40 p.m. a man armed with a firearm entered a shop on Main Street, Blanchardstown.

He threatened staff before escaping with a sum of money.

There were no shots fired during the raid and no physical injuries.

Details of the robbery were circulated to officers and in a follow up search a man was arrested along with a sum of money.

The man, who is aged in his late teens, is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

At 2 a.m. this morning a follow up search took place of a house in Briarswood, Blanchardstown and a woman was arrested and an imitation firearm recovered.

She is also being detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
