Gardai arrest three men and seize drugs following searches in Dublin

Gardai have arrested three men and seized a quantity of drugs following a number of searches in Dublin

Gardai from a number of units and Dublin stations conducted the operation today.

During a search at a house at Kilmainham Bank in Dublin 8, heroin with a street value of €25,000 and €6,000 in cash was seized.

Three imitation firearms were also seized.

A man in his 50s was arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at Kilmainham Garda Station

In another search at Basin Street, Dublin 8, heroin with a street value of €1,000 was found and a man in his 40s was arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Kilmainham Garda Station.

Another man was arrested on foot of existing bench warrants at an address in McCarthy Terrace, Dublin 8

He has been brought to court and has been remanded in custody.

Another search, in Inchicore, Dublin 8 uncovered a number of packages containing 3.5 kilos of what gardai describe as 'a powder like substance'

Gardai believe the substance to be heroin or cocaine and have sent it for analysis.

A car has also been seized for technical examination.
