Gardai appeal for information following armed robbery in Dublin jewellery store

Gardai are appealing for information following an armed robbery on Aungier Street in Dublin this evening.

Two males entered a jewellery shop in the city centre carrying a firearm at approximately 5pm.

They pair threatened staff in the shop before leaving with a quantity of jewellery, including three display trays of gold rings.

The raiders escaped in a grey Opel Astra and abandoned the vehicle on Aungier Lane a short distance away.

One of the males has been described as tall (well over six foot) and was wearing a blue balaclava, a sleeveless yellow high-visibility jacket and a blue hard hat.

The second had been described as shorter in height (about five foot ten) and was wearing jeans, a blue top, a sleeveless yellow high-visibility jacket and a blue hard hat.

Both men are believed to be in their late 20s and early 30s.

Gardai are also seeking information on the car used in the armed robbery. The grey Opel Astra has a partial registration of ’07-C’.

The vehicle was taken during a burglary on the night of November 9 in the Harold’s Cross area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Pearse St Garda Station on 01-6669000 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800-666-111.
