Gardai 'anxious' to speak to driver who may have witnessed tragic crash in which man (60s) died

Gardai are "anxious" to speak to a man who may have witnessed a road accident in which a man died.

The collision between a white articulated Volvo truck and red Ford Transit van happened Junction 13 Southbound on the M18 at Ennis, Co Clare at around 12:48pm yesterday.

The sole occupant of the van, a man aged in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.

A garda spokesman said in a statement: "Gardaí in Ennis (065 6848100) are anxious to speak to the male driver of a dark coloured Opel Insignia saloon car who may have witnessed the fatal collision between a red Ford Transit van and a white articulated Volvo truck at Junction 13 Southbound on the M18 at Ennis on 5th June 2018 at 12:48pm."
