Gardaí seize cars, caravan and cocaine in Meath raids

Gardaí in Trim, Co Meath seized cars, a caravan and cocaine as part of a raid on Thursday, May 23.

Items seized included suspected stolen power tools, a suspected stolen caravan, catalytic converters, a suspected stolen bicycle, a small quantity of cocaine, numerous weapons and three canisters of pepper spray.

Cars were also tested for the use of illegal fuel, and two were seized by Customs and Excise Officials. An Audi car was also seized under the provisions of Section 41, Road Traffic Act, 1994.

Four people were arrested, with one being brought to court on the foot of a bench warrant and the other three released pending further investigations.

Gardaí said this raid targeted the distribution of counterfeit currency, drugs and stolen goods nationwide.

The searches were carried out at 10 locations in the town.

The operation involved gardaí from Districts in the Meath Division, including the Divisional Drug Unit, the National Stolen Car Unit and the Garda Dog Unit.

A number of external agencies also assisted including Customs and Excise.
