GARDAI are probing the circumstances surrounding discovery of a body at a recycling plant earlier today.

The grim discovery was made at the AES plant in Nenagh in Tipperary shortly before 10am this morning.

It is understood that the body is that of a man in his mid 40s.

There are reports - as yet unconfirmed - that workers at the plant discovered the body.

It was taken to University Hospital Limerick. A post mortem, by the State Pathologist, is due to take place this afternoon.

The scene is currently preserved.
