Garda probe as body of man found at back of house in Limerick Newsdesk Newsdesk

GARDAI are investigating after the body of a man was found earlier today.

The body was discovered in the back garden of a house in Briarfield, Castletroy in Limerick.

He has not yet been formally identified.

The State Pathologist's Office has been notified, and gardai are investigating the circumstances.

The occupants of the house are currently assisting Gardaí with their enquiries. No arrests have been made to date.

The discovery was made as a result of enquiries carried out by gardai who had received a report of a missing person on January 6.

Speaking this afternoon at Henry Street Garda Station Superintendent Derek Smart appealed to anyone who was in the vicinity of the Briarfield area since Wednesday 30th December and noticed any unusual or suspicious activity to contact them.
