Gardaí are investigating after a homeless man was found dead in a doorway in Cork city on Sunday morning.

The man, who was in his 50s, was discovered at around 7am near St Finbar's Bridge.

His body was taken to Cork city morgue where a post mortem is due to be carried out.

The man was a user of homeless services in the city for a number of years.
