Garda appeal for information on Carlow horror crash killing one and injuring seven

Gardai are appealing for information or witnesses relating to a road collision last night which killed a 42-year-old man.

The collision occurred yesterday evening at approximately 5pm in Ballybannon, Co Carlow.

A 42-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and a post-mortem is due to take place later today at Waterford University Hospital.

A further seven were injured in the crash.

Two men, aged 33 and 36, were airlifted to Waterford University Hospital while two males, aged 12 and 33, along with three women, aged 46, 50 and 80, were transferred to St Luke's Hospital in Kiklenny.

They are described as being in serious condition.

Another passenger, a 46-year-old man, was miraculously uninjured.
