Garda appeal after pedestrian in his 80s killed in early-morning crash

A PEDESTRIAN in his 80s has been killed in an early-morning road crash.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the collision on the N60 at Logatemple, Claremorris, Co.Mayo at 1am on Saturday.

The man was fatally injured following a collision with a car.

The driver and two passengers in the car were uninjured. The body of the deceased has been taken to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar where a post mortem examination will be carried out.

The road at the scene is closed to facilitate an examination of the crash site by Garda Forensic Collision investigators. Diversions are in place between Claremorris and Balla.
