Gallagher on charge of making threat to kill

A COUNTY Donegal man has been arrested on charges of making threats to kill and harassment.

John Gallagher (46), below, who is originally from Lifford, now lives in Strabane, Co Tyrone, a mile from the Border.

He was arrested on Tuesday last following an alleged incident outside a shopping centre in Strabane.

The alleged incident involved a member of his family and claims that threats were made in a car park.

The PSNI arrested Mr Gallagher and he was taken to Strabane police station for questioning.

He was later charged with making threats to kill and harassment and is to appear in court on June 6.

In a statement, the PSNI said: "A 46-year-old man was arrested in Strabane on Tuesday, May 14. He has been charged with threats to kill and harrassment.

"He is due to appear at Strabane Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 6, 2013. As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS (Public Prosecution Service)."
