Fungi makes a splash to greet race winner
THERE'S nothing like a rousing reception from a famous resident to welcome you across the finish line at the end of a long race.
The crew of the Cork racing yacht 'Antix' got more than just a greeting at the end of the Dun Laoghaire to Dingle race. There to meet them was the area's most photographed resident, Fungi, the bottle-nosed dolphin.
The dolphin first appeared at the mouth of Dingle harbour almost 30 years ago.
Now a huge tourist attraction, regular boat trips are organised to see Fungi at play.
