From a laptop in a bedroom to a multi-million company

IT started off with an idea and one laptop in a bedroom – and has become one of the major success stories the Taoiseach wants the public to know about. is a car parts and accessories website which has just rolled out a major expansion plan from its new facility at Park West business park in Dublin, with a €2.3m investment.

Already employing 34 staff, it now plans to take on a further 65 in the next two years to cater for demand that comes from as far afield as Kazakhstan, Australia and Iceland.

Twins Ciaran and Michael Crean (38) from Ballina, Co Mayo, started in 2004 when Michael, an engineer working as a car parts rep became redundant.

Ciaran was a computer software designer.

"This is the kind of story that needs to be heard by so many others," Enda Kennysaid while at the premises yesterday.

Describing the company as "brilliant innovation," the Taoiseach said: "I'm very proud of what you do, lads."
