Fringe has it covered with tales at bedtime

Allison Bray

A BED in a Temple Bar car park is one of the intriguing sets that will feature in this year's Dublin Fringe Festival.

Dublin writer, actor and producer Veronica Dyas (44) chose the former site of the Norman Typewriting Company to tell the haunting story of her relationship with her grandmother who worked at the factory before a series of strokes left her confined to bed for 13 years.

The audience will watch the action from the side of the bed as she traces her life in her one-woman show 'In My Bed'.

"Everything happened around the bed," she said of childhood in Dublin.

The hour-long play is among 460 performances from 90 artists that will be held in 40 locations from September 10 to 25.
