Four taken to hospital after four car M50 pile-up

FOUR people were taken to hospital today after a crash involving four cars during rush hour in Dublin.

The accident happened on the M50 at Junction 9, the Red Cow roundabout, at 7.25am.

The four people who were hospitalised are not understood to be suffering from serious injuries, but traffic was severely disrupted for a period of time. Four lanes of the motorway were reopened shortly before 8.30am.

The pile-up occurred on the northbound lane.
