Former Bush aide Rice tees off at Royal Dublin

FORMER US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice enjoyed a round of golf at Royal Dublin yesterday.

George Bush's former top diplomat -- now removed from politics -- is visiting Ireland as a tourist in a private capacity.

Ms Rice is a professor of political science at Stanford University, California.

She played a full round at the 18-hole course and was fortunate enough to enjoy the magnificent weather.

Security with Ms Rice was low key and very few onlookers recognised her.

A spokesman for the golf club said they were "very pleased" that she chose to play there.
