WITH more than 100 pairs of shoes in her wardrobe, dancer and singer Alesha Dixon knows a thing or two about footwear.
"I don't know what it is about women's relationships with shoes, but it is an obsession," said the 33-year-old judge from 'Britain's Got Talent' as she cut the ribbon on Ireland's largest ladies' footwear section.
The Shoe Garden, which opened at Arnotts in Henry Street, Dublin, last night, features more than 50,000 pairs of shoes, 2,500 styles, and 47 brands in 10,000sq ft.
Dressed in an orange Tara Jarmon dress and studded Kurt Geiger heels, the former 'Strictly Come Dancing' winner, and judge (pictured left), returns to the 'Britain's Got Talent' auditions next January.
Alesha was full of praise for 2012 Irish contestant Ryan O'Shaughnessy who she praised as "one of the most genuine artists in the whole series . . . I hope his album is really successful".
The leggy singer normally wears heels for work, but she does own flat shoes.
"A lot of my friends are small so I don't like going out with them feeling overly tall," she said
"I normally wear heels when I'm at work -- it's flats in the car.
"I love nude shoes. That's one of the best tips: if you want to elongate your legs, wear a nude shoe.
"Keep it classic, keep it simple. If you are wearing something short, you can get away with that pop of colour.
"Most women would buy an outfit and then they try and find shoes to go with the outfit but recently I started to get into buying fabulous shoes and then try to find an outfit to go with the shoes. I think if you get an incredible pair of shoes, then wear something simple and let the shoes do all the talking."
