Flight makes safe emergency landing at Shannon
AN American Airlines flight from Manchester to Chicago was forced to make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport.
There were 211 people on board the Boeing 767-300 plane, including the crew, which landed shortly after 1pm.
A spokesman for the airport said the aircraft landed safely and was currently parked on standby.
He said passengers have come off the plane and are waiting in the airport's transit lounge while they wait to hear the airline's intentions for the flight.
