Fine Gael's rising star
MEATH East TD Regina Doherty, elected in 2011 – is acknowledged as a rising star within Fine Gael.
A first-time deputy, she was picked to introduce Taoiseach Enda Kenny at the party's Ard Fheis last year. The 41-year-old is based in Rathoath, Co Meath, and has two sons and two daughters.
She unsuccessfully contested the 2007 General Election, failing to win a seat. She has also served on Meath County Council.
It is not the first time her business links have attracted publicity. Last year, she didn't declare the company she ran with her husband Declan.
The company, Enhance Solutions Limited, specialised in "software consultancy and supply".
She later admitted her error and asked that her records be corrected.
Ms Doherty also admitted breaking company law by taking an illegal loan from the company.
