File sent to DPP over fatal stabbing

A COMPREHENSIVE file on three people has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions over the death of a 19-year-old who was chased by a gang and stabbed to death, his inquest was told yesterday.

The inquest into the killing of David Byrne of Davitt House, Drimnagh in Dublin was adjourned as garda investigations continue.

Mr Byrne was found lying injured in the car park of the Emmet Court flats complex on the evening of March 19 last after he was chased by a four-man gang into the quiet cul-de-sac courtyard.

A post-mortem found he had died from multiple stab wounds.

Coroner Dr Brian Farrell adjourned the inquest to December 6.
