QFIFTY new jobs will be created in Cork and Kerry with the planned expansion of a telemarketing company.

Intercall in Cork – and its sister company Tangerine Management in Killarney – have already begun recruiting for the new positions, which it hopes to have filled over the next 12 months.

The jobs announced are in the companies' three core areas including sales, customer service support and management.

Managing director Niall Kelleher said the expansion was an indication of the growth both companies had experienced over the past number of years.

The Cork jobs will be based at Dosco Industrial Estate on the South Douglas Road and at Cork Airport Business Park. The expansion of operations in Killarney will double the number of staff.

In the next year the companies hope to have expanded their workforce to over 170 staff across the three locations.
