It was all go in Fianna Fáil this week as some people used the Ard Fheis as an excuse to carry out a bit of spring cleaning.
Dublin North has seen, ahem, healthy competition, for a number of years between two former TDs, Darragh O'Brien and Michael Kennedy.
Both lost their seats in last year's election, but O'Brien, favoured by Micheál Martin, is now FF leader in the Seanad.
In time-honoured tradition, there was a purge of Kennedy people at a constituency meeting this week to ensure that O'Brien rules the FF patch in north county Dublin.
"Once the Kennedy crowd knew the numbers were against them, they had to fold," a satisfied source said.
