Fianna Fail puts off abortion legislation decision

Fiach Kelly Political Correspondent

FIANNA Fail has put off taking a decision on the abortion bill for at least another two weeks.

A parliamentary party meeting this afternoon was said to be split 50/50 on the issue.

The leadership had wanted to support the Government's abortion bill, but a decision has been put back until after the Oireachtas Health Committee hearings on the legislation.

They are scheduled to take place in two week's time.
