FG's Olwyn celebrates baby with TD husband
Fine Gael's husband-and-wife TDs, Olwyn Enright and Joe McHugh, are celebrating the arrival of their first child.
Ms Enright, the Fine Gael TD for Laois-Offaly, gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Darragh Thomas McHugh, on Sunday afternoon. The latest addition to the family weighed 7lb 6oz.
The new arrival's proud father, Mr McHugh, the Fine Gael TD for Donegal South-West, said mother and baby were both doing well.
"He is lovely and we're delighted," he told the Irish Independent.
The couple started going out together shortly after the 2002 general election, where Ms Enright was elected to the Dail and Mr McHugh to the Seanad. They were married in July 2005, and both won seats in the Dail at the last general election.
Ms Enright is the daughter of long-serving Laois-Offaly TD and senator Tom Enright and is the Party's frontbench spokesperson on social and family affairs.
