Festival reaches new heights

WHAT goes up, must come down.

At least that's the theory -- but it doesn't apply to Cirque Mandingue, the undoubted stars of the Midsummer Festival in Cork.

The Guinean performance troupe brought part of the city centre to a standstill yesterday with their weight-defying human pyramid.

The festival runs until Sunday, June 26.
