A WOMAN cyclist who died of injuries sustained in a collision with a car four days ago has been named locally as Siobhan Moriarty.

Ms Moriarty, who was in her 40s and from Tralee, died in Kerry General Hospital (KGH) last night from injuries sustained when she was involved in a collision with a car in Rathass in the town on Wednesday night.

The accident occurred near the entrance to the hospital where Ms Moriarty was taken in a serious condition.

It is understood Ms Moriarty had been on her way to visit a relation in nearby Marion Park when the accident occurred.

She had decided to cycle rather than drive because her car had been due to be tested for a National Car Test (NCT) certificate.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Tralee Garda Station on 066- 7102300, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
