Father and daughter injured in Carlow hit and run involving 4X4

A father and daughter were injured in a hit and run incident in Co Carlow yesterday evening.

The pair sustained injuries when they were struck by a 4x4 vehicle while walking on a local road in the Urglin Rutland area of Carlow town at approximately 8.20pm.

The 59 year-old father was seriously injured, while his 23 year-old daughter sustained minor injuries.

Their injuries are described as non-life threatening.

They were taken by ambulance to St.Luke’s General hospital in Kilkenny.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of the incident or the driver to contact Carlow Garda Station at 059-9136620 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
