FAS rebrands recruiting arm
THE state jobs agency FAS is rebranding its recruitment arm today as part of the government's plan for its break-up.
Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton, whose department is assuming control of the recruitment wing, will today announce its rebranding as Intreo, incorporating the Irish word 'treo', meaning direction.
It is the third rebranding of the agency in recent years, with another section of FAS dealing with funding for education and training to be known as Solas.
Meanwhile, its training centres are to be merged, along with the VECs, with 16 new education and training boards.
A spokeswoman said it costs associated with the changes would be "very, very small".
