Farmer killed while pumping tractor tyre

A MAN who died in a farm accident at the weekend had been pumping a tyre at the time, writes Majella O'Sullivan.

Timmy Riordan (59), pictured above, from Faha, Listry, Co Kerry, died at Kerry General Hospital (KGH) on Saturday afternoon, following an accident at his farm at around 12.30pm.

Mr Riordan was repairing a tractor and trailer at the time of the accident.

It is understood he was pumping a tractor tyre when the rim became loose and struck him.

He was taken by ambulance to KGH, but was pronounced dead there a short time later.

The Health and Safety Authority is investigating the incident.

It is understood that the married father of two had survived a serious accident last year.
