A family returned home from their holiday to find their home wrecked and a sinister message scrawled on the wall of a room.

The family had been away for a week's holiday when they returned to find the back door of their Warren Park Drive home in Lisburn, Antrim broken open.

When they went in they found their home wrecked - even the baby's cot was damaged, police said.

"Your [sic] dead scum," was scrawled on the wall of a room.

The family said they had no idea why they were targeted.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
