More than 35,000 people are expected to flock to the Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair in Co Meath next month, where the best riders and horses from Ireland and abroad will be put through their paces.

The focus will be on family fun over the bank holiday weekend, May 30 to June 3, with free admission for the under-12s, a free toddler zone and a large picnic area overlooking the famous water fence giving a bird's eye view should any riders get thrown from their mounts. Visitors are also invited to bring along their pooches for the novelty dog show while the mini puissance ponies will defy gravity by doing the high jump.
