Family appeal for Irish man (21) missing in Vienna
The family of an Irish man missing in Austria flew to Vienna yesterday as local authorities carried out searches in the city for him.
Ross Hanlon (21), of Athboy, Co Meath, was last seen outside a nightclub in the early hours of last Friday morning.
He had travelled to Vienna with friends for a weekend break but the group became separated during a night out.
Friends and family have been unable to locate or make contact with him since he was seen outside the Flex nightclub in the Augartenbrucke area of the city.
Searches have been ongoing in the city since Friday morning.
He was reported missing to Austrian authorities and his family here have been liaising with gardai since the disappearance.
The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed it is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance to friends and relatives.
As they left Dublin for Vienna yesterday, Mr Hanlon's family appealed for anyone with information to contact police in Austria.
Mr Hanlon is described as being 5ft 9in tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans when he was last seen.
