Ex-chief of Tullamore Dew dies

The death has taken place of Bill Jaffray, former managing director of Irish Mist and Tullamore Dew (pictured).

The well-known and widely respected businessman from Tullamore, Co Offaly, was in his 85th year and had been ill for some time.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, his daughters Catriona (Dubai), Grainne (New York), Niamh (New York), and son Brian (a former Irish Independent sports journalist) and a wide circle of family and friends.

He is reposing at Carthage's Nursing Home, Mucklagh, Co Offaly, from 5pm to 7pm today.

His remains will arrive at the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore, for 10am requiem Mass tomorrow following private removal from the nursing home.

Burial afterwards will be in Clonminch cemetery.
