THE New Year may feel like old news for most of us but for the capital's Chinese community, the celebrations haven't even begun.
In the Chinese calendar, 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit and it doesn't begin until February 3. To mark the event, Dublin's Chinese community are running their own New Year festival.
Details of the event were announced yesterday -- a film festival, animation workshops and lecture series at the Chester Beatty library will all form part of the celebrations which begin on February 1 and last for a fortnight.
"Dublin is in the process of formally twinning with Beijing and this festival marks the spirit of that friendship," said Lord Mayor Gerry Breen.
