Enda Kenny to meet US presidential candidate Mitt Romney in London
US Presidential election candidate Mitt Romney is expected to meet Taoiseach Enda Kenny on Friday when both are in London for the Olympics.
Mr Romney’s schedule indicates the Republican Party candidate is meeting Mr Kenny for the first time.
But the Taoiseach’s staff is unable to confirm yet if the meeting is happening.
Mr Romney and Mr Kenny are both expected to attend the opening ceremony of London 2012.
Mr Romney’s wife, Ann, owns a horse that will be competing in the Olympic dressage competition.
Two weeks ago US President Barack Obama described Ireland as a ‘tax haven’ in an online attack on Mitt Romney’s investment policy.
The Presidential candidate will meet British Prime Minister David Cameron at No 10 Downing Street.
Mr Romney will be on a six-day tour, visiting London, Israel and Poland.
